Opinions on First Keyboard.
« on: Wed, 01 April 2015, 14:17:39 »
Hello GH,

I'm looking at purchasing a compact keyboard.
I often use the arrow keys, So I have decided on a TKL.

I don't know all My options yet, But a few are:

Filco Majestouch 2 ninja
WASD 87 key
Quick Fire Rapid-i

I am in Canada If it means anything.

Any information or recommendations are welcome an appreciated.

thank you

You can use the right-bottom 4 keys as arrow keys + the 60% compactness = win?

Otherwise WASD-87 or KUL ES-87 are better choices, imo

I would personally suggest a KUL. They are easily some of the most solid keyboards I've ever come across, utterly built like tanks, and heavy. They also have 7 dip switches which means they have the most layout customization of the lot. KUL now also sells replacement top shells for relatively cheap, which is nice if your into custom keycap sets as you can easily match your board and make it look how you'd like.

I have 3 KUL's and have never had any issues with any of them. I have a Novatouch, Filco TKL, QFR, as far as directly comparable keyboards and it is easily my favorite of the lot.

Ah, and WASD keyboards are definitely almost as good as the KUL, yet they are more expensive plus WASDs shipping is insane. I wouldn't even want to know what they charge to ship to Canada.
