HHKB.

But seriously, it's subjective.

But seriously, HHKB is best.

There's only one topre switch type worth considering with different weights.

PFU topre

The type of something that seems to be the most popular in polls such as this is often the type that most people tend to own, not the type that most people would prefer have they been given a chance to try them all for enough amount of time.

Are there differences between the different manufacturers' switches besides the springs? Please dismiss the question if it is too obvious; because, I am not familiar with Topre designs.

The differently weighted topre switches are due to the domes not springs.

Also as has been mentioned there is only one topre switch made by topre along with the mx compatible stem version done as a collaboration between coolermaster and topre, there are other MX compatible dome and spring capacitive switches but they are not topre.

Thank you for the explanation; but in that case, is there another difference in the design, beyond the domes 'hardness"? I ask because the subject was titled Topre switch "type"; thus, following the MX logic there may be other differences between switches besides the actuation-force. I will search for information on the subject if I have some time tonight.

I neglected to mention the hi-pro switches also as they are different to accommodate the taller key caps and also the silent version of the switches which have slightly different stems and have a silencing ring.

But the dome is the different in the weight, also with topre the board will feel different depending on which you get for example the realforce line are plate mounted but the HHKB is case mounted which also affects the feel of the switch.

Between 45g and variable I like 45g.  Variable just feels inconsistent.

Though I have yet to try 55g so I'll find out one day.

At the moment 45g wins.

Having tried both the 45g and 55g RF switches, I prefer the 55g personally for typing feel. However I could see how finger fatigue would be an issue with extended periods of typing on 55g.
