Quiet a few folks seem quite happy with their Kailh Blue/Brown switches; however I hardly hear of anyone enjoying their Gateron Blue/Browns.

Do we have any happy Gateron Blue/Brown owners?

Pretty sure they reviewed well; I think the links were at the top of the GB thread run by Shadovved.

I have a bunch but I'm waiting for my pcb's before I can put them to use.
I'm back.

That's because the Gaterons are so new that there aren't many available keyboards with them, and not many people have built keyboards with them yet.

I have not put any in a keyboard (yet) but I really like the browns and blues. They are a bit like Kailh/Razer switches in that the actuation point is a little bit earlier. They are smoother than new Cherry MX but not as smooth as vintage Cherry MX. The Gateron's tactile bump is also a tiny bit sharper - but if you swap stems between Cherry MX and Gaterons the difference is nullified.

I cant wait to try some out.  Are there any keyboards available yet?  I think I saw a Massdrop with Gaterons in a KUL 87 or somesuch, just recently.

I've heard from some that the Gateron Blues are too light and that the click action isn't very pronounced, but I've never tried them myself. I firmly believe that most switches will fare well in a quality board and not so well in a poorly constructed board. The only switches I've had a bad experience with are Outemu.
I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

Gateron blues are pretty good too... though I haven't used much since I only got a few to check them out, didn't buy enough to make anything with them yet. I found them to be about the same weight as Cherry, but they have a sharper/harder click and a bit deeper less annoying tone than modern Cherry blue.

  • 60% is more than enough.
built my infinitythingy with Gateron Blues, absolutely nothing to complain about, might even say they're even slightly nicer but custom blues in a totally different setup is all i have for comparison.
