The fallout from this will be good for the company in the long run. Ditch the hubris-filled executives at the top of the company, and install fresh blood who might actually understand how to market cars in North America.
Let's not forget: GM and Toyota produced cars with defects that actually killed people. Volkwagen cheated on a test. I am by no means a VW fanboy. A former roommate had a Golf and my wife had a Jetta that, while fun to drive, were the most unreliable pieces of trash since my parents' 1980 Chevy Chevette.
