Kensington Expert Mouse Pro

Hey, new here...

For years I've realized that my Kensington Expert Mouse Pro has a somewhat transparent blue giant trackball, and while bored the other day I shined a flashlight into it, and it illuminated quite nicely.  Today I opened it up and there's plenty of room inside for an LED or a series of them.

I'm probably going to mod the trackball out to illuminate the ball.  I may look at adding a glow around the four main buttons.

Anyone modded one of these like this before?  I'll have to steal current off of the USB, but a few LEDs shouldn't draw enough to cause undesired operation, right?

Just make sure to add a resistor in series with the LED, and connect it in the right direction.

Yeah, gotta get the voltage right so I don't burn up the LED.
