Hooray! More Alps keycap set options. This is especially good for those who missed the last Massdrop buy or want more sets later :D.

Yes, indeed! Perhaps this is a beginning of a new trend as more people discover Matias and other Alps-type switches. I am eager to see how good the quality is on these ABS double-shots, and I hope that someone will become interested in producing dye-sub PBT sets for Matias / Alps.

If I recall correctly, these caps are like SP DCS. And while that may seem like a bad thing now, a lot of people don't remember just a couple years ago, that's all we had available. There's nothing wrong with SP DCS and we're spoiled by options now.

So is this for real, or just wishful thinking to see how many people sign up?

KBParadise bought 300 sets when the ALPS double shots ran on Massdrop ( It would not have met MOQ otherwise) So this is very real, just a long wait as the group buy just ended not too long ago.

SP DCS is perfectly acceptable.  Not quite the perfection of Cherry profile, but more than acceptable.

Now I have to pay a premium since I failed to get in on the Massdrop buy.  Nice one, bonehead.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Although the listing does say OEM profile.

All the better, as far as I am concerned. I like high profiles on keyboards.

Although the listing does say OEM profile.

I ordered a set, and I am not quite sure what "OEM" means in terms of Alps, unless perhaps it refers to whatever Matias is currently making.

My hope is simply that they are compatible with my 4 Alps keyboards: Northgate 101, AT101W, Filco Zero, and Ducky 1087XM in case I have to make substitutions.

And, of course, if I am one day so lucky as to get my hands on a Kingsaver .....

I know this is off-topic, fohat, but since you said you have a Filco Zero... do you know how it compares to the KBP V80 in terms of build quality? I was looking at getting one of the two a while ago and ended up going with the V80 because nobody was selling a Filco Zero.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that at all. I really know very little about Cherry keyboards.

Ah, I was referring to the Matias V80 that just came out recently. But if you're not familiar with it, no worries.

Those are the only two standard-layout Alps TKLs that I know of, and I wanted a TKL with blue Alps so I picked up the V80.

I honestly got confused at one point and couldn't tell the difference between the V80 and the Filco Zero. I mentioned that in the V80 review in my signature

Amen.

Do these pre-orders collect payment upon joining or when they ship?

I ordered a v80 yesterday. The invoice doesn't say but I checked my credit card account and the transaction has been posted.

That's unusual since most vendors don't post transactions until they are ready to ship.
