KC60 // Discussion / Review / Guides
« on: Sat, 11 July 2015, 00:14:38 »

I recently got the KC60 from Massdrop and finally got around to doing some short guides after doing the full review of it. So far I've been quite impressed with it. It's basically the GH60 (in fact upon plugging it in for the first time my PC recognized it as a GH60. I thought it would be good to get a discussion going on it here before it ships so questions can be answered. The programming section is a little unfinished as the manufacturer was using the TKG toolkit as their "official" firmware flasher, but they didn't have permission to do that so they have created their own. I ended up with another folder full of Chinese instructions that are semi-translated, so I'll be updating the programming instructions asap. I still need to get around to trying it with Easy AVR as well. Honestly, it is exactly what I thought the GH60 would be like. The version that is shipping out will even have the same black PCB. Should anyone have any questions feel free to ask!

Thanks for all the insight on the KC60. I really can't wait to get mine. I would like to know your findings on how well it works with Easy AVR, once you test it. This board will have my first set of dye subs and my first 60%. So I am really looking forward to using it.

Ok I finely got my KC60 in. So far I seam to be lucky and my unit does not having any issue other then the "Backspace" key saying "Backspase". I had a few issue with the programming at first. It was because I had a different driver installed for the ATm32U4DFU already and it did not like it. After using the zadig tool to reinstall the drivers for it I was able to updated the firmware correctly. I still look forward to Easy AVR or TMK supporting the board. That way we can use its full potential.

Will add more info after I get a chance to take it apart.
