Help identifying two switches
« on: Sat, 03 October 2015, 00:59:12 »
Hi guys, I recently picked up an Alps switch that I can't find any information on, and I also found a strange switch in my Guitar Hero controller.

The Alps switch is half-width and strongly resembles the SKCM Green switch both in shape and linearity.

The GH switch is branded FT+ and has no other markings. Just estimating I'd say it is probably 100+ gf and clicky. Pictured below are the two of them next to an Alps.tw Type OA2 switch.

I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

Green one is Alps SKCL Compact.  I need to look up the Guitar Hero one again, but it should be a clone, likely an XM Alps switch.  Could be one of several others though.   Once you get into the clones it gets trickier since there's so damn many of them.

Guitar Hero uses Alps clones? Wow. I did not expect that xD .

Anyway, to identify that one it would help if you could show a detailed picture of the internals :) .

Yep I've seen a couple of threads where people ripped apart the guitars and found switches, haven't seen any of them with FT branding though.

@Nub: I don't think it'd be Kwanda considering the branding. I wish it were easier to match but I have been able to rule out Tai Hao, Alps.tw, and a few other well known clones.
