What to do with the monitor you've replaced?

Just upgraded to 4k monitor
Not sure what to do with my previous monitor which is an asus pb278q

not thinking to do dual monitor, ideas? hoping that I don't have to sell it, it's still a good monitor

Make a small media computer (think Raspberry Pi or similar) for goofing off; put it somewhere you hang out in your house. You can use it to listen to music or watch videos while you're cooking in the kitchen for example.

Dude I have the same Asus monitor, I'm pissed though, it's come up with these strange marks that look like little circles in what I think is the anti-glare coating, also have like at least 2 dead pixels and it's less than a year old!

Dealing with RMA is a nuisance though, I would definitely use your spare as a side monitor though, if you game for like maps and net browsing, there's limitless stuff you can do with extra real estate.

Yeah, I bought a monitor from my next-door neighbor's yard sale a few years ago and immediately realize how nice it is to have something on the side.

I replaced my dual 21" ASUS monitors last year aound this time with a 24" LED monitor and those two ASUS monitors are still sitting in my closet. I have tried selling them with no luck. I would love to set them up for some small projects except I just don't have the space in my current apartment.

Could always sell your PB278Q to me for a reasonable price, like I said mine has some discolouration in the screen that is pissing me off

I had 24" IPS on the side (potrait) before next to my pb278q. It's too high in height and tire my neck a lot
honestly, if I have two of the exact same monitor as dual monitor, it might work (landscape)
but to have two different monitor side by side, with different bazel , different depth of color, etc...
nope....

another reason is:
1. I can just get another pb278q but I don't think it's worth with the current various better range of monitors being offered right now
2. To opt with no 1, there's a chance I still might not like it
3. I got the new 4k LG 27MU67-b, amazing (except the backlit). And to get another one for dual... don't think I wanna spend another and still a chance I might not like it

but to have that PB278Q laying around cringe my heart it really is still a good monitor
arghhhh....

I might try dual monitor but put the second one on top....

You'll need the Chromecast app to set it up. You can choose any of your albums from Google Photos, Facebook, and Flickr. I maintain a family album in Google Photos just for this reason. The TV stays on most of the time but rather than some lame show nobody's watching, it's a running slideshow of our family. Very cool.

Doesn't Chromecast need usb port? I don't have the luxury of chrome/apple products in my country, that's why

Only for power. And you can use any USB phone charger adapter to power it.

If I remember correctly, I believe you can plug the Chromecast into the USB port of your TV/Monitor for power as well? I ended up giving mine away a while back, so I'm not 100% on that...

Usually I donate them to a school. You have no idea the state of computers in public schools unless you have seen it first hand. No one should have to work on the stuff they have. It is just gross. 

Once though I had an old Dell laptop and I took the panel out of it, I bought a touch screen overlay and put a Raspberry PI behind it. I mounted it to the wall and make myself a touch screen that linked back to my media pc for streaming stuff. That was a fun project.
