Unicomp for $20 (new hampshire)
« on: Sun, 11 October 2015, 21:18:11 »

The seller is willing to part with the Unicomp alone for just $20!  I'd be all over that if I was local.

Wow, that is nice! and cheap!

Somebody in the NE region needs to take a road trip.
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Yep!  I thought it would help someone out that wanted one.  I know I would have grabbed it if it was local.

Ironic that he went out of his way to build a quiet computer, and pairs it with a buckling spring keyboard :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I never understood the 'quiet' computer thing.  If I wanted to work in silence, pen and paper has always been quiet.  Efficiency has its price.

You get a quiet computer so you can better enjoy the blissful noise of buckling spring in all its glory.

I emailed him as soon as I saw this, but he never replied, so I guess he sold it.

Bummer, but I didn't think it would have lasted that long either.

I'll try again since I live close by.
