Found an old clicky keyboard
« on: Thu, 22 October 2015, 20:28:29 »

Any idea what this is and how much this is actually worth? All I know about it is it's clicky, the box says "Enhance", and it's only for PS/2 port. Couldn't take off the keycap cause I didn't have a keycap puller with me and I didn't want to damage it in any way. Here's a video of me pressing a key.

Can't see the video, but can you get a picture of the underside where there's a label or FCC ID number?

Fixed the link of the video. Unfortunately I can't find the picture of the underside. I guess I'll just drop by tomorrow or something and take a picture of it.

3 red flags that stand out, first = it's in the Philippines, two = it has a big-ass-enter key...and 3, it looks like you're in a pawn shop, that guy literally pulled that keyboard out of the trash. Just put in order in at Elitekeyboards.com and get a quality keyboard at the best price with lightning-quick-like shipping.

The keycaps can be valuable to some, making some cash for the OP to save for the kb they want.  Don't be so quick to judge.  Half the reason I have IBM Ms is because someone didn't throw them in the trash.

Just for the record I have 2 HHKBs and have no need for any more. I'm just looking to get this identified and see if I can flip it, if not then welp so much for that.

If someone is willing to pay a price, then yes.  That guy has holding costs to consider when inventory doesn't move.

I highly doubt the shop that's selling it knows the actual worth of this KB. Current price on it is about 30USD so say what if it's a rare Cherry or Alps KB that's rebranded, that's worth way more than the current price then. And just for the record, it's not a pawn shop.

Looks like a monterey keyboard. $30 is a bit steep for an old keyboard in a local shop. It could have some rare switches though. If you tried it and you think its worth the $30 then buy it.
If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

Best advice ever.

Seriously, if you like it, haggle some and get it.  :thumb:
