Lubing Alps

As I become more into alps switches, picking up and infinity and enough orange alps for a switch swap, I want to lean more about modding the switches themselves.

I've looked around GH and reddit but never really found a guide on how to properly lube alps switches. There seem to bit bits of information scattered around suggesting dry lube being the answer and others using grease. No real solid info on where to apply the lube either.

Anyone have a guide or good recommendations?

I've tried some Krytox on orange Alps sliders and it really doesn't do anything. Depending on how pingy your switches are, some heavy spring lube might help. But other than that just keep them clean and you should be fine.

There was a thread recently about some aftermarket Alps springs but I don't remember where (Interest Checks maybe?) and I'm too lazy to search from my phone right now.

But you already bettered your switches when you bought Alps.

When my orange alps are as stiff as the tactile lubed greys and have a proper keyset I might consider them better, but for now I'm not 100% convinced


as for the aftermarket springs, the IC seems to have died :/

The coil springs in Matias' linear and tactile switches are lighter than those in their clicky switches, but I don't know how they compare to the coil springs in any of the orig Alps switches.

I have some matias switches and the springs are lighter, but I'm looking for a lot stiffer

I swapped springs and sliders from damped whites with orange alps. The white slider is much smoother, especially with some lube. Makes the orange alps much nicer and a bit quieter.
