New Leopold Keyboard, Flickering Caps and Scroll Lock

Hey all,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post on, but I have been having issues with the Leopold board I just bought. Needless to say, I am pretty bummed seeing as this is my second keyboard in a row to come with an issue. I got my Leopold FC900 today and I was absolutely loving it. No issues whatsoever. Then suddenly while messaging a friend, the USB noise went off on my computer and the keyboard no longer responded. The Caps lock and Scroll lock LEDs began to flicker and I am still experiencing that issue right now. I tried looking up solutions for this issue but most of the problems with flickering caps/scroll locks included a system crash, something that my particular problem did not exhibit.

Pretty frustrated at the moment and just hoping to find a solution, whether it be RMA or a simple fix.

Edit: I have tried different wires, USB ports, even computers. The same issue persists. At times it will function again for a few seconds, but then Windows will alert me that it does not recognize the device and the flickering of the Caps/scroll lock occurs again.

To me it sounds like some kind of issue with the board's Microcontroller. I dont imagine there would be any easy fix with that kind of issue. And if there were id still recommend RMA'ing for the sake of any other issues later on.

Glad i could help even if it isn't much. Two boards with issues in a row is pretty bad luck... I hope MK.com RMA's it without any issues and you can get a replacement or diffrent board back quickly.

They were very nice and straight-forward with my Ducky Shine 5 with a wobbly spacebar. I hope I can just RMA this one and get a new one that properly works. I am just hoping this is me being unlucky instead of poor quality from Leopold. From everything I have heard, Leopold is a great brand and I was loving the keyboard all day up until it died.

The issue you have definitely sounds like it's more of a one off kind of issue, and like you are unfortunately unlucky for a second time. Fortunate in the sense that if you get a replacement i dont imagine any chance of the same kind of problem happening again.

Yeah I was actually recommended this board from someone on this forum while figuring out the issue with my DS5. I really loved everything about it and have this forum to thank for the suggestion. I just hope I can get one that works properly.
