South Carolina Meetup - April 2016 - Submit the form!

Hey all,

UPDATE: 1/13/2016


I apologize for letting this thread die in off-topic...BUT

I am still interested in holding this meetup.

I've made an executive decision to have it on one weekend in APRIL 2016

Which weekend that is, is up to you! PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM TO PICK YOUR PREFERRED DATE (you can select multiple dates, I will just go with the one that has the most people signed up).

I can accommodate a couple of distant travelers if need be 

Once a date is finalized I will start organizing the venue. I am still aiming for the Marriott in downtown Columbia, SC but if anything changes I will keep you all updated.

While Columbia does have a rep of a **** city there is still some fun stuff to do: go to the zoo, riverwalk, tour some confederate state house grounds, get delicious chicken and waffles, check out a record shop or two, yadda yadda. Let me know what you all want to do!

I have wanted to hold a meetup in South Carolina for a while. Would anyone be interested in attending? No real date set yet, I'm thinking sometime early next year like February or March. Flexible based on interest of course.

If we get enough people, it'll be in Columbia SC. Not sure for the venue, however the Marriott downtown has free meeting spaces I could easily reserve.

Approximate driving distances for some locations:

Charlotte, NC: 50min/1hr
Atlanta: 3hrs
Raleigh: 3.5hrs
Charleston, SC: 90min/2hrs depending if you're downtown or not.

I know a couple of people from my work would want to go, so we're at 4+me now!

I also have a nice big living room at my place you can crash at if need be.

I wouldn't be totally against Charleston, just makes things easier for me here in soda city even if the roads are awful (billnye gets it).

I most likely wouldn't be able to meet up until 2016 as well. Not sure what everyone else's dates look like, but if we are still open my vote goes to March-April  2016. That leaves  plenty of time for planning as well.

hoffff. Good news buddy, lots of record shopping to do here. Manifest, Papa Jazz, 2nd and Charles...and my goodwill has a s*** ton of vinyl. I'm sad I missed the expedition in Raleigh with you and LSB. Maybe you can teach me the ways...though I should get a record player first . Just need to get CPT, LSB, and anyone else I am missing for another epic record shopping adventure.

March 2016 might be a good time to have it, as March is spring break month, a lot of people from the Raleigh meetup were in college so it could be a good time to travel.

Or if March doesn't work, I'd say 2nd/3rd weekend of April.

Bumping again

So it looks like the date will either be April 9th or the 23rd.

A few more responses on the form will seal the deal.

Once a date is finalized I will pick the venue (this probably will not take long)
