Mount plate for a Filco MJ2 TKL?
« on: Thu, 04 February 2016, 06:12:48 »
Hi Everyone,

I have just started out in the world of mechanical keyboards and my first buy was something safe, a Filco Majestouch 2 TKL.

I have yet to replace the key caps on it (they're already going shiny), however, I wanted to lube the switches however, I noticed that all the switches are plate-mounted and I can't take them apart without desoldering.

I am quite happy to desolder all of them, but I'd rather only have to do it once, so I was thinking to replace the mount plate with a custom one that allows me to pop the top off of the switches so that I can also change the stems/springs at a later date if I feel like it.

I've searched around on these forums and indeed on Google, but unfortunately I didn't come across anything resembling a mount plate (at a reasonable cost) that would fit in a Filco TKL case that is available to buy.

Please could someone point me in the right direction?

Apologies if it's obvious where I should look, I am new here   :)
