Fullsize, 60% and 30% to provide a sense of how small this will be.
This is going to be about the smallest practical mechanical stenoboard I can build.
Prototype PCB's arrived from China today. Woo hoo! Almost had a fit when I noticed there were no screw holes.... But then remembered that I have steel top places being made. Phew.
Going to start with:
15cN at 2MM activation springs (I may cut them down further but I am hoping for about 12cN at 1.1MM) in Kailh Speed Silvers ( 1.1MM activation and 4mm Travel) PCB by EasyEDA
Steel Plates from the Woodkeys group buy
Key Caps will be G20's dremelled down to fit the 16MM spacing.
Still noodling on the case. I will likely start with something simple and acrylic but I am extremely tempted to CNC some aluminum bar stock and anodize it for a nicer result.
.... Was pricing out Desktop CNC machines last night. Around $1.5k all in by the time it is all pieced together (Openbuilds C-Beam and 800w spindle kind of thing).
