80 Key Ergodox
« on: Sat, 13 February 2016, 10:28:52 »
Decided to modify the litster case to support 80 keys.

Came out awesome.

Using G20 caps and 62g ergo clears.

Looks nice do you miss any of the thumb keys while typing or are they all pretty well reachable?

They are all pretty reachable. Sculpted caps on the thumb keys would probably be preferable.

Yep. If you can get keycaps of different heights and put tallest kecypas on the top thumb cluster row and outer column. And shortest keycaps on the bottom inner keys

I believe davkol has similar ergodox like you.

Do you mean with or without moving your hands then? I'm working on an Oobly build and want to pack as many keys on the thumb part as possible so i'm just curious.

What was your motivation to make this one?

I just wanted more keys. Specifically a dedicated arrow cluster.

I have since flipped the bottom row of thumbs keys as g20 caps have a steep cutout at the bottom. Having the cutouts face each other in the the thumb cluster (second row cutout bottom facing bottom row cutout top) has made the thumb clusters much more usable without moving my hands.
