Im new- I have a project

So Hi all, I am new to Geekhack and here is my little project:

I want to make custom keycaps out of a resin (i want to paint it)
so i have a razer tournament 2014 keyboard with green switches.

This is where you come in, I have never made my own custom keycaps before so

I live in the UK

Is this all I need to start the project??? ((( the cheaper the better!!))

A suitable Resin so that i can use to make the mould http://www.mbfg.co.uk/polyurethane-casting-resin/sg2000.html

Then im gonna need like other things like primer, paint, mould release.

Also I wanted to make a custom shape so how would i make it for the mould as its gonna be some hard shapes/to put onto the key. I would think 3d printing but unfortunatly I am not a minted asian kid.

csmertx has already pointed you at a valuable resource with lots of info about keycap casting.

I'll give you a nudge in the direction of the :~$ynth which you might find interesting.

Have a look through those various threads, and if you still have questions or want to let people know what you're doing, feel free to create a thread in the making stuff together section.

The search is kinda broken.

Most of us use Google, and prefix the search string with site:geekhack.org

Well everyone has their own ways of searching material using various types of search engines, duckduckgo.... etc. There may be some repeats in some cases but sometimes some different ways in which the search engine work displays different results. you should try sometimes searching in a different language if you cant find what you are looking for...

Although about 99% of posts on GH are in English (or local variants of it).
