Austin Mechanical Keyboard meetup.

Hello friends and fellow enthusiasts, I am happy to officially announce the Austin Mechanical Keyboard meetup hosted and sponsored by Das Keyboard on Friday, June 24th. I am blown away by all of the support I have received from fellow enthusiasts, vendors, and artisans alike. There are a ton of prizes available at the event from Das and many others. I will be showing teasers for prizes up until the date of the event, so check back to see what we will have!

Date and Time:
Friday, June 24th 4:30pm- 7:30pm (may run late)
There are plenty of great spots for afterparties if we want to do that.

Location:
9020 N. Capital of Texas Hwy, Corporate Center One, Ste 365
Austin, Texas 78759

There will be signs inside leading to the right suite.

Parking:
There is plenty of parking at the venue. Be respectful of course, the area is slightly secluded, so there should be no issues.

Cost:
There will be a $5 cover charge to recover some personal costs for the event which have mostly been for raffle prizes including commemorative keycaps and some artisans. Das has volunteered to cover food and drink for attendees. Any extra funds from the cover charge will go to a local non-profit organization that is to be decided. Prizes are almost guaranteed, if you feel this is unreasonable, feel free to reach out to me.
Edit: Das has offered to assist in my purchases as well as food and drink, so there will be no cover charge, thank you so much to the Das team for their generosity!

RSVP Here The first 30 people to RSVP and attend will receive a commemorative Texas meetup key cap from Decent Keyboards. This list will be publicly visible so everyone has a basic idea of how many people will be there, I know I am always encouraged to go to something more when I know there will be other people. Buying, selling, and trading:
Das has respectfully asked that attendees do not bring competitor brand keyboards to sell, I believe this is a reasonable request. Artisans, accessories, and keycaps are welcome. I know I have a few sets to sell.

• Open keycap buying, selling, and trading!

Raffles and Prizes: (will be updated as we go!)

• Donation from jtm_sea, extras and rejects from his Goomba design testing. Will be sold as blind bags, $1 for two caps, one functional, one decorative.
• A very special donation from Cozmonort, a prototype No Esc 2!
• A ton of caps thanks to Keypop that will be included as prizes and blind bag freebies along with the Goomba artisans!
• Massdrop delivered just a portion of our future CS:GO chap's winnings today. Sci-Fi DSA CS:GO inspired keyset!  As well as a few t-shirts and a Doubleshot PBT backlit keyset! t-shirts and a Doubleshot PBT backlit keyset!

Suembeaux, thanks for posting this announcement. I've been to a couple of SoCal MK Meetups and enjoyed meeting other enthusiasts and seeing the attractions. Because I have family near Austin, I would gladly go if I knew that some of my fellow GHers would also be there.

That's great! I was hoping this would get a bit more attention here on GH since the audience is typically a bit more dedicated to the hobby, but there is still plenty of time. I also understand I am not quite an elder here, and popularity is a very real factor in these sort of things. I am extremely excited for what is to come.

I'm bringing an FSSK, a V60 with Salmon Alps, and an HHKB (Topre) with a PBT space bar. Not much I know but it's what I can fit. I may someday make a HiPro TLK board which could be a regular at keyboard meetups.
