Need help with Costar stabs
« on: Sat, 16 April 2016, 09:31:21 »
At first i have no experience with costar stabs.
I noticed that my costar stabs only make contact with the front side of the U thingy and asking mysefl if this is normal/correct? I have already grindet the cutout in the backeplate somewhat.
I doubt that i have the stems mounted the wrong way because the other way around they dont fit at all. For all i know there is some play on them but doesnt that have to be on both sides not only one. Can someone explain please.
Pic stem makes only contact with front leaf:

Marked the said gap here:

Thank's for your help :D

So is the white stem running into the black portion on the plate? If that's the case it makes me wonder if your key isn't the wrong size.

I wasn't sure how to install the stabilizers and figured it out by taking the white part alone and checking that it made full travel while lined up with the switch stem. The reverse and incorrect way to install them becomes fairly obvious at that point.

Its not jaming only making contact id glides almost freely i gues with lube it will bee minimum resistance. The stems are mounted correctly if i mount theme reversed they will not even fit. I just was unsure if this is normal for the stems to have such an airgap on one side but i gues its ok.

I guess I'm just not clear what is rubbing. Is it the white stem against the black stab? or is it the wire catching the black stab. I have limited experience with these, but I've never had the stem rub against the black base.

Stem against the black base. wouldnt it be ratteling if it wasn't rubbing against the base?
