Hey y'all, I joined GH a couple months ago just to read through some stuff. Been into mechanical keyboards for a couple years though, mostly active on reddit and on deskthority for Round 6 related purposes.

Right now my setup includes two 60% keyboards, both Pok3r plate/PCB and MX Clears (though my LeandreN R4 stuff just shipped to my office today). One is built up with a MKC silver aluminum case and Nuclear Data (plus a teal Honeywell keycap I modded for MX and some OotV stuff), and the other is in a Tex acrylic case with vintage low profile spherical alphas and a mix of GMK Bluegaloo, RGBW, and Originative Hangul for mods).

I'm currently on the hunt for a set (or individual keys) from Rad Hard, so if anyone has a lead on those hit me up (:

A nice couple of boards

I have the yellow, orange and red extra keys that came with the NDG set (not for sale, sorry) but I didn't think of matching a teal keycap with the set - looks great!  And thank you for posting pictures of how you did the mod, looks like something even I could attempt )

Actually, come to think of it, I've got a bag full of crap bag keycaps around here somewhere ...

Excellent pictures too!  Have you seen the various threads in the media section?  They would go down a treat there, like the Pok3r thread, the general keyboard/keycap photography thread ...

Thanks! I'm still figuring out my way around GH, I've lurked for a while and checked other threads (mostly linked to from other forums), but I'll find some places on here to share stuff too.

Actually, like I said in my OP, I'm even looking for individual keys from Rad Hard (red 1u keys, mostly), so if there's a key or two you wouldn't mind parting with you know who to call (:

Do you mean for the Honeywell Escape key? I pried off a spare stem from another SA keycap and sanded it down to square it off a bit to fit inside the honeywell's square shaped mount. Then, because the Honeywell keycap is wayyyy too thick to fit over an MX switch, I used a knife to whittle away some of the material on the inside of the cap to hollow it out a bit. I also needed to shorten the Honeywell's stem mount, since it went too low and was hitting the switch too.

Ah, the brown keys are vintage low profile spherical keycaps (probably) from a Cherry G80-0662. From what I can tell Cherry used this profile in the 70s, I believe with M8 switches. The size of the cross mount is the same as MX, so the 1u keycaps work without modification, but the 2u for the backspace I had to mod to remove the stabilizer mounts (cut/pried out with a knife) since they didn't line up with modern stabilizer spacing.

Oh no haha, I only needed to mod the 2u control I'm using as a backspace
