WASD PBT manufacturer
« on: Fri, 27 May 2016, 00:57:23 »
Does anybody know if the WASD PBT keycap set is made in-house, or do they get it from an OEM? And if so, which one?

I have a V2 104 PBT and I gotta say, the caps are really annoying. The coating on them is really sticky, not the slick PBT of my Vortex and Topre sets. And they're super thin to boot. :-\

This picture makes me think they might be re-branded Duckys, but I'm hoping somebody knows for certain

Aren't they TaiHao? The super sticky coating is likely their antibacterial coating thing they have.

There's a link somewhere to an easy way to remove the coating.

There are TaiHao PBT sets right now on MD. This issue has me so nervous I'm considering cancelling my order. I know the coating is removable but I think I'd rather find a nice set of PBT caps I don't need to fuss with.

I actually joined that drop, and cancelled my order once I found out my WASD caps were Tai-Hao rebrands. Seriously the worst feeling ever :( I'd take ABS caps over that crap.

Yeah, I cancelled my order & ordered the Cyrillic set from Originative. The Originative set is Cherry profile, also, so I'm sure I'll be much happier.
