Hi there GeekHack. ive been using Sony Vaio and IBM/Lenovo Standard Multimedia Keyboards for many many years. Recently gotten myself a MagicForce 68 keyboard with Kailh Blue switches and absolutely felt in love. However, the magicforce 68 doesnt have a numpad and i do miss having a fullsize keyboard.

have been Googling mechanical keyboards for awhile and have come down to 2 or 3 keyboards which i can easily buy where i live. They are:

Ducky One PBT,
Ducky Legend Cherry Red (Blues are soldout where i live),
Filco Majestouch Ninja

Which of these have is better and which of these is most durable with best build quality?

Thx in advance!!

What did ducky do to you to hurt you so bad?? Perhaps you are one of those people who get paid to post on internet forums to stir up things??

Anyways, to answer the question in the OP

I think you will be happy with any one of those boards. As far as durability etc most newer boards from the major vendors have been very solid.

What it comes down to is what exact requirements do you have?

Do you want nice stock keycaps or do you plan on replacing them anyway?

Do you need backlighting?

If pricing is an issue that would have to be part of the decision as well. I've never understood the filco hype and refuse to pay the higher price premium.

Perhaps these links might give you more info

As I don't know the specific models you are looking at they could be slightly different that those linked but that should give you more information to help with your decision.

I have both the Ducky Legend with mx red and FILCO MJ2 ninja with brown. Both of their quality are great.
The only differences between them are the stabilisers, the bezels and the backlighting.
I love my legend with mx red but ducky's stabiliser is really mushy, it takes time to get used to them. Filco on the other hand is sturdy and the stabilisers has some rattling sound. Aesthetics wise, if you are a person who likes minimalist design, then go for FILCO. The backlighting on Legend is beautiful but it does not have any function at all.

i prefer the Fullsize keyboard as i do need the TenKey part.

As for keycaps, i would like laser etched smaller fonts, pbt. but its no biggie, can always swap them later.

i dont need backlighting.

Reliability and durability is very important.

i went to those E-Gamers stores and tried LOTS of keyboards over the weekend. Ducky One and Ducky Legend was basically the same price, the Legend looks bulky with bezel sticky out on 4 sides so its out of the list.  i have come across Corsair K70 which i like very much... and like the fonts of older version k70 Keycaps better.

my preference for switches have changed from Cherry MX Blues to Cherry Red and KBtalking Brown (light with tactile feeling). i find the Cherry Brown is a bit heavy. With this in mind i didnt decide on which to buy.

After more reading about the switches. i think ill try out Topre.

So instead of the original 2-3 now i have more to screen out.  :p
