Question about Corus Keyboards
« on: Mon, 06 June 2016, 09:35:53 »
Hi -

This is probably not the right forum for this. I apologize in advance.

Does anyone have experience with Corus Keyboards? I've ordered from them and made a PayPal payment. Unfortunately the website didn't show this order after paying, it thinks I have no orders as of yet. I mailed the shop owner with questions and my PayPal details. He confirmed the transaction and stated that the product had been shipped (40$ worth of black gaterons + 60% sleeve). That was about 4 weeks ago. Since then I've mailed numberous times asking for a shipping record/trackntrace code, they have not responded yet.

Should I be using my PayPal buyers protection?

Thanks

Where are you and where did it ship from?

You have 45 days to dispute a Paypal transaction.  I'd give them up to 40 days to deliver (or to provide accurate package tracking), depending on the relative geographic distance, and then open a dispute.  This gives them an additional 5 days cough up the tracking before the dispute window closes.

If they're ignoring you, you should dispute. It's ridiculous that they can't give you tracking in this day in age.

I ordered from them on Amazon. There were no problems, but Amazon handled the fulfillment so it wasn't really Corus sending a keyboard to me.

Wait, 40days paypal warranty!? IIRC it was 180 days buyers protection. Am I wrong?

Corus used to be great!

As of late reddit and other places are flooded with complaints about them not responding....sending out the wrong items...etc

I'd file sooner than later IMO

Man, you're a lot nicer than I am. After 40 days, no tracking, and no response I'd be ready for war. Maybe I'm over-spoiled with same-day shipping . . .

Not too happy about that but what can I do. At least they had a good service. Luckily my purchase wasn't that expensive..

Hello everybody,

Let this serve as a warning to you. Corus has not responded to any of my emails and I have opted for a PayPal buyers protection.
I've bought the new switches from MechanicalKeyboards.com. Very disappointed in Corus!

I can add my personal experience with Corus keyboards.  I had a damaged spacebar which I wanted to have replaced on a Poker 3 LED board.  I had an aftermarket soldering iron stand and the tool did not fit well.  It slipped through and put a nasty hole in the spacebar.

I emailed Corus keyboards and explained what happened and that I'd be happy to pay whatever costs for the parts and shipping, etc.  They were happy to oblige and sent a part which was originating from China.  After 3-4 weeks it never came, so I emailed them back and they said they would send a replacement.  After 3-4 weeks it never came and I contacted them.  They suggested that I use another address, but I explained that I have received hundreds of personal packages at this address, many from China.  I gave them an alternative address and it still never came.

After this I was in touch with Mechanical Keyboards and they were able to ship me a replacement for around 6 dollars.  It wasn't OEM, but it was very close and it sufficed.  The gentleman's name was Justin and he was a pleasure to deal with.  Corus keyboards always responded within 1-2 days, but they never delivered on their promises.  I do find it a little hard to swallow that every package got lost or stuck in customs, especially with a large company that is supposed to be sending lots of computer related paraphenelia.  I will  refrain from passing judgement because I don't know what happened, but I wanted to share this.

I recently ordered a Pok3r from their Homepage. It was marked as in stock, but after paying with paypal suddenly not any more ...

I already wrote 3 messages via their contact sheet and 1 mail, canceling the order, as I dind't intend to wait a month or longer for my board. Mo response yet and this was 3 weeks ago. Guess I will have to inform Paypal soon.

Wow that sucks man.
Seems I got lucky when I ordered my pok3r from them, no errors here.
That reminds me, anyone want a pok3r with nordic layout?  :))

I then ordered via Amazon, but still from Corus, as thei're the only ones shipping Pok3rs to Germany right now. No problems, board is here and nice quality, even a good batch of cherry switches. Different color though but I really like it in white. And I got the Amazon service.

Via Amazon means they ship directly from the Amazon warehouse, it's a much different experience than ordering from Corus's own website.  If it's sold by Corus but shipped from Amazon directly you are definitely safe with Amazons fantastic service.

I've read a lot of horror stories about corus. I personally ordered my pok3r from amazon and had no issues because amazon fulfilled the order. The uncertainty of communication alone would steer me away from using them. Hope this resolves quickly for you OP.

I saw lots of complains in reddit recently regarding Corus. I guess it's safer to avoid buying from them for now.

Ich will avoid them from now on.

Judging from my experience and yours as well, I think refraining from commerce with this company altogether would not be a bad idea.  It seems they have incompetent employees.  I've always had good experiences with Mechanical Keyboards and Amazon, so this is where I would look.

If you are willing to do a little research and take a chance at foreign purcheases, aliexpress may have something that  you are looking for.  You may even find something that is not available in the states.

From my own experience:

Corus KB as zero customer support. They will never answer your inquiries, nor will they bother with paypal disputes.
If it says the item has been sent then it has been sent. The shipping simply takes extremely long time. It took over 2 months for me to receive my package. It did, however arrive at the end - after my dispute on paypal went through. I went and gifted them equal amount of money to the paypal account later.

If you want to buy from Corus KB, go search Corus KB via Amazon instead. It will offer the same inventory but the shipping will be faster.
