Quick Keyboard Tips - Rollover, ghosting, and blocking
« on: Sun, 03 July 2016, 12:59:59 »
I'm putting out a second series of keyboard videos in which I hit separate topics individually. This time I explain things like rollover, ghosting, blocking and NKRO :) .

Very well done.  One of my greatest annoyances in this domain is confusion about KRO and how those ignorant of what it means are so adamant about why they need NKRO.  The statement about C-A-D on a 2KRO keyboard is one I never thought to bring up in a discussion on the topic but nails the point home so simply.

Good video. I do believe that NKRO is just a gimmick most of the time.

However both my Focus and my Model M are very annoying to play Team Fortress 2, which I have thousands of hours in. I cannot walk + reload + voice chat (w+r+v) and remapping the keys is annoying.

On the Model M I can't switch weapons (with q) and on the Focus I can't reload (with r)

There are people who believe that "anti-ghosting" would be some magic technology that would allow you to press more keys at the same time...
Good to have the terms cleared up.

I had a bit where I rip apart a Razer Somethingwidow with "Anti-ghosting" technology but I cut it from the final version. I find it deeply annoying in which they market this sort of stuff, it's like marketing water with built-in wetness. Even worse, people walk right into it.
