INVAC keypunch with photoelectric keyboard

Keypunch Keyboard Vintage INVAC CORPORATION

(Auction ends July 11, 7:11 PM PST)

As it's currently at $200 + shipping, I don't know how Great a Find it is—but check out the back plate:

That is some rare keyswitch technology. As far as I know, only this company used it.

I see one of these was discussed here on GH and here on DT. (From the latter: "For those of you into rare vintage, it doesn't get much better than this with thick hand routed PCBs, as much steel and mechanics as a vintage typewriter and Nixie Tube display. The keys are designed such that you can only press them in specific sequences to help reduce human error.")

So hey, if you aspire to having something with every type of switch, guess you'd better take a look.  ;?)

I did, but it's so expensive xD . I guess the switches should be Burroughs opto-electric, which I'd love to give a go :( .

This has actually been listed several times I think, just hasn't sold for the starting bid.  If it was in nicer shape, I'd consider it, but at $200, makes it kind of hard to justify as an impulse buy.

I must agree. What we need is more people with cool stuff who don't know how cool it is. That is the perfect scenario.
