Flat Keycaps

Hello all,

I'm new to geekhack and have seen alot of cool forums here about keyboards and keycaps. And right now I am looking for flat keycaps like these ones:

for a keyboard that I plan on building. But the main issues are is one that its pretty pricey for those caps and two I would like to get a full set of these for a ten keyless format.

Has anyone found anything like these?

Welcome to Geekhack!

The G20 profile in particular is a SP invention, and unless you can find someone selling a secondhand set (probably unlikely, as few members have them) the only place to get a set is SP.

They do sell a few G20 sets, which is probably cheaper than buying a bunch of individual keycaps to make up a set, like this one:

As rowdy said, Signature Plastics' G20 set is really what you're looking for. And $60 for a TKL isn't all that bad.

How do the G20s feel when typing on them though? I feel like it would get a little tiring on your fingertips since it has no curvature.

Probably no worse than a laptop board. It's been a long time since I typed on a laptop that had anything other than completely flat keys.

I would hope that they atleast sound a bit better  :p

Or like an Apple aluminium keyboard, albeit with slightly larger keycaps (and consequently smaller gaps between them).

It'd have a similar profile to a laptop's board, but it would have much more travel. I have an old Bondwell 8T PRO laptop from the 80s with flat Alps spherical caps in uniform profile. It's actually not bad at all.
