Model F "b" key randomly wont register

I bought my Model F almost like new condition about year ago as my first mech kb and it has worked wonderfully except sometimes the "B" key wont register for no apparent reason ive tried reaseating the caps multiple times and it sometimes seem to work for no apparent reason.

It also registers when i press the "N" key while pressing the "B" key. It now works except when i press right or left shift. (i just noticed that while writing this )

What could cause this and how would i fix this?

Its a 122 key one i just notice that the "B" key wont work anymore regardless if i press shift or not again. ive een reluctant to open it up for now since it has worked so well ut i guess i etter do it now. (also i dont want to use another keyoard while i clean this one )

I have heard that f122s are hard as hell to reassemble. Lord knows I had enough trouble reassembling my XT.

The spacebar wasnt really an issue for me because I used the floss trick to hold the hammer down. F122s use a regular model M spacebar, correct? I bought one on an ill fated classifieds selloff almost 5 months ago and still havent received  it.

Yes that is correct mine was actually of from one side when it arrived luckily nothing was roken so it works perfectly now.

I dont know if it was the compressed air or the reseating but its working perfectly for now! thank you!

I am always leery of compressed air - if there is debris you can force it farther in. I would always recommend turning it upside-down for a vacuuming first.

Another technique - and I am loathe to suggest it, for fear of what can happen - if the pivot plate is slightly out of its track, it is possible (last resort, and be careful) to use a toothpick or piece of wire and press straight down, then gently scoot it side-to-side to see if it will re-seat itself. Sometimes one of the "ears" will climb partially out of its groove, and you can get it back in place this way.

I would be scared to vaccuum it for the fear of springs getting sucked in and lost for eternity. Thanks for the tips!
