Well, I knew this day would come...
« on: Thu, 25 August 2016, 09:28:29 »
So, I've finally and inevitably decided to make an account here. I've been a long time lurker, but after just purchasing my first legit keeb, I figured it was time to set up an account. Just picked up a Pok3r 3, cherry mx clear, no backlight and also ordered a set of DSA PBT  caps from PMK.

I'm mostly interested in the group buys here and learning more about switches other than cherrys.

Thanks for having me!

It'll be here beginning of next week. Looking forward to receiving it. I've never tried the MX clears, so I'm hoping I didn't screw up by ordering those.

Welcome to Geekhack!

MX clears are great!  As long as you don't have a pinging keyboard ... I don't think the Pok3r pings much.  The CODE apparently pings a lot, although mine doesn't.

Pok3r is a great keyboard, very popular.  This one time for a couple of weeks nearly every new member had one!

But that's not to say each one is identical.  They may start out identical from the factory, but customisations each owner does to them makes each one unique.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
