removing the clickiness of a ThinkPad keyboard
« on: Sat, 03 September 2016, 16:17:09 »
I went to the store and I tried a ThinkPad t450 which is on sale.
It is in all ways an excellent laptop except for one aspect.
The keys of the keyboard are very clicky and other than the click force there is very little pushback from the key.
Is it possible for me to modify the keyboard to remove this clickiness?
If the click is due to a bump or protrusion somewhere I would be OK with snipping that off on each key.
It might also be nice to put something like an o-ring inside each key to soften the impact when the keys bottom out.
I don't want to buy the laptop before I know the keyboard can be housebroken.
It's either this or I ignore the keyboard and use an external e.g. With cherry black keys. In which case... why even have a laptop?
Thanks
