After researching through forums, it seems like most agree that GPL 103/205 mixture is most effective. GPL-100 is too volatile that it requires frequent reapplication, and some say 105 is too viscous if overapplied in certain applications.
However, I'm curious to know how the 103 mixture compares to 104 in terms of volatility and typing feel.
To those with 103/205, how long does the set-up last before it needs to be reapplied?
To anyone who has tried 104/205, do the switches feel less responsive than thinner lubes?
My opinion is, if there is unnoticeable difference bw 103 and 104(and even 105), I would opt for the longer lasting 104/5 mixture. >>>If there was a good lube that would never require me to de-solder and re-apply, I'd go for that right away.
Questions about purchasing
I haven't found any good sources of pre-mixed Krytox 103/205, maybe I'm searching the wrong places. The techkeys mixture is 206/1506, can anyone provide feedback on this one?
And EKMechlube, any opinions?
Websites I've found to purchase Krytox direct are zorro, grainger, gon, tmc, others.
I've found that TMC has good prices + free shipping ( $18 total for 1x GPL-205 0.5 oz)
As well as zorro, provides free shipping and cashback if >$50, but minimum 2x purchase quantity for each 0.5oz item. ($18 for 0.5oz GPL 205) ($16 for 0.5oz GPL 104). Better selection and prices
I'm considering zorro but, I don't need all that lube to meet the minimum purchase quantity and free shipping limit. (Minimum 4 tubes of 0.5oz lube in order to purchase, or order in larger sizes)
I would be willing to sell the 2 extra tubes, or distribute small volumes of the lube that's left
Or, I can also buy in a larger size, such as 2oz, and distribute them according to desired amounts(grams or mL depending on which is more appropriate/accurate). This would essentially be a small groupbuy. I'm not looking to invest too much time in distributing for profit.
So, this will also be an interest check for anyone who wants to grab a new 0.5oz tube of 103/104/205, or small volumes(1ml,2ml).
