Keycaps from the ICL "One Per Desk" computers?
« on: Thu, 03 November 2016, 08:22:03 »
Someone is selling sets of keycaps from the old ICL One Per Desk computers on r/mechmarket  (https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/4y4uok/euro_h_various_cherry_icl_alps_keycaps_sa_retro/)

I'm totally in love with these keycaps, but I don't have any ALPS keyboards for them.

They're definitely a sclupted profile, and they appear to be flat-top (is this right?)

Does anyone know anything about these keycaps?   Who made them, and did they come on any other computers?

I have this set on my atreus, I'm loving the caps.

Here's a potato picture of the profile, the caps themselves have a flat top:

and here's how they look on the board:

Thanks for sharing, your board looks fantastic.   Love those caps.  I think I would build an ALPS board specifically for those, if I got my hands on a set for a good price

Hot damn. I was just looking that board up. If I had the cash I'd buy a set prontisimo for my Alps Clueboard.

E3E built a board using those caps:

Aren't those the Retro DSA colors?  If so, that would be an SP run.

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

E3E's keyboard uses a mix of SA Retro and One Per Desk caps. The One Per Desk are original caps by Alps, colors and all.

But the DSA Retro (and presumably SA retro) colours did mimick the One-Per-Desk.
