Hello from Switzerland
« on: Tue, 07 March 2017, 01:24:56 »
Hi everyone
I am from Switzerland and in the process of building my first costum keyboard. But for a swiss person this is really hard. First there arent many 68% ISO-Layouts out there and second there are none having the swiss labels on them. So I wanted to create something, but there are so many obstacles to conquer... I am close to just giving up and either go with the ANSI-Layout or giving up all together.... Maybe some tips ?

Hi from Sweden

Are we talkin about Cherry MX and Cherry MX clones switches? If not, I'm sorry if this don't helped you. The ISO keycaps problem: For some years ago I was usin 109 keys ISO/Nordic k - boards and it was very hard to find good lookin  ISO/Nordic keycaps sets, most of the sets I found was ISO/UK, I could use the ISO/UK sets on my k - boards. So I bought my first ANSI k - board from US and no problems to find good lookin ANSI keycaps sets. I never will go back to use ISO/Nordic k - boards.

There is this custom set (Cherry MX switches and Cherry MX clones) you can order with ISO/Swiss labels but it is in US and a 88 keys ABS set: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/keycap-set/88-key-iso-cherry-mx-keycap-set.html

You need to have a standard keycaps size on the bottom row layout (Ctrl, Win, Alt, FN/Menu standard size is 1x1.25 and Spacebar size is 1x6.25) on the k - board: like Ducky, Das, Deck, WASD in this link: http://www.maxkeyboard.com/mechanical-keycap-layout-and-size-chart.html

As you can see in the link corsair, razor + some more  don't have a standard bottom row size on their Ctrl, Alt (standard size on corsair +  some more in the link), Win, FN/Menu caps + Spacebars.

One of my ANSI k - boards: Ducky One RGB YOTG with Jukebox SA keycaps set + some extra kits, the 2 orange pumpkins don't belong to the Jukebox set.

One of my old ISO/Nordic k - boards: Ducky Shine 3 with Jukebox SA set + a international ISO kit (swedish) + some extra kits. Sorry for the bad picture.
