Morning folks, new to the keyboarding lifestyle.
« on: Wed, 15 March 2017, 05:34:06 »
I've been looking for a hobby to get involved in, as of late. And something to sate my need to make things. And with the recent Planck OLKB Kit popping on Massdrop, I realized that I've never *really* put much thought into keyboards. Now I've got the kit on order, as well as a Varmilo VA87MR. As of now, my arsenal only includes a WASD Code 104-Key with Cherry MX Blues. I'm also looking to get into a group buy on a Gherkin in the coming weeks, and am very interested in building my own keyboards in the future. So I'm always interested in finding places to source parts, and have extra enthusiasm for "strange" or otherwise non-standard layouts.

Sounds like you're off to a good start! Look into a switch tester and then frequent the IC's here to find non-standard layout stuff everywhere :P

I've actually got one floating around somewhere! Just a piddly little 4-switch, came with Cherry Blue, Brown, Red, and Black. But I've been considering DIYing something to have a bit more variety, as well as different key caps and different LED brightness.
