Helpppp!!!
« on: Thu, 23 March 2017, 01:28:15 »
I am wanting to get a real good keyboard and eyeing an tkl board, maybe even a diy if the quality of things are there. SO recommendations welcome . Here is what I am looking at
Thinking of joining the Tric 80 gb and need to know a few things . what do you guys think ?  worth it ?

https://www.originativeco.com/products/tric-80?variant=31139482576

Questions I have are as follows .
1. does it come with everything needed to function ?
2. can I add leds if I choose to later ?
3. winkey or winkeyless . what the hell is the difference ?
4. Will I be able to choose switch type or does it come with blues ?
site is not too forgiving with info > I just want to know what i am getting at 400$
also .
 sorry for the noob questions.

1. I don't think it comes with switches

2. Yes, it supports leds

3. Winkeyless will have blockers over the winkey like this, winkey won't

4. Doesn't come with switches so yes, you do get to chose what you'll put in it
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

TRIC 80 is the easiest and most reliable buy. I'd have ordered one already if I had the money.

Do you think that board it comes pre soldered with resisters for led ? that is the main thing I dont want to do . I can solder in switches no problem , but I dont think I have the patience to do all that little resistor work.

pretty sure it's SMD presoldered, most PCBs are lately

you might have to do resistors, but just do them first and you'll be fine, they're ez

Ok awesome > well I took the plunge . SO now I need some stabilizers and leds . I am thinking of doing hot swap cones so that I can change stuff with ease,  But have no idea what is good. I have read about some not fitting certain pcb . So I don't want to get the wrong ones if possible.
