USB output from Teensy to project box
« on: Wed, 07 February 2018, 13:10:59 »
I am tweaking a project box that has a Teensy with Soarers for an F122.  The problem is the USB out doesn't sit flush with the outside of the project box and it was just glued in place with some capaciters underneath to space it up high enough.  I want to remedy this situation and flush mount the USB out.  My first thought was one of the USB type changers similar to this.  Just wondering if there is a better solution.

This is what I am working with. I know the plugs types are backwards but same idea.

How about using a short cable. Most are converters so you'd end up converting from mini to micro USB. Something like this.

Get one of these and you can mount the Teensy using screws. Use the USB Mini B conntector onboard the Teensy?

I'm not sure there is enough room in there for the cable with getting it bent and turned around.

That's actually my design.  I think MOZ did the KiCad work for me.  There was another version that had the screw holes on the sides.  But the problem isn't mounting.  It is getting the USB receptacle on the Teensy flush with the outside of the project box that is proving the issue.
