1up Keyboards Topre-MX Sliders

Saw these browsing skiwithpete's Youtube channel. Anybody have experience with them? They are relatively inexpensive and wanted to know if anyone has thoughts about them before taking the plunge.

Yes, I've used them to replace the 1u sliders on a Topre 23U numpad. They work perfectly fine.

The real problem, as I see it, is that for anything else, you are stuck with a mixture of TMX sliders and Topre sliders since there is no directly compatible substitute for the Topre stabilizers.

Thanks. Bought 4 just for MX artisans. It is a bummer there are still no stabilized key sliders.

I've been searching to see whether anyone had typed up a review on these but without any luck, I thought I would add my personal opinion to these sliders

Bought 60 of them from 1up. And now I have them on my HHKB

1) I noticed that there seem to be some inconsistency with some of sliders. Perhaps 6 or so of the sliders that I received would not return to the fully reset position when the plate was flipped upside down. To test if this was due to the rail I tried a stock slider but it had no issue  Also one of the slider legs snapped when installing.

2) I tried the sliders first without any lube (I delubed my board) and after using the stock lubed sliders they were considerably more scratchy and heavier.
I wouldn't personally use MX stems without lube. It was a chore for me to even type on the MX stems without lubrication

3) After lubing the MX stem it was much better to type on but still different compared to the stock stems.

3) The MX slider itself it more substantial in the stem area compared to the stock sliders. So when I factor in the stem, the different keycaps (cherry og thick pbt vs thin topre pbt). It all translated to a much heavier typing experience. This combination of keycaps and mx stem feel like they add another 5 grams.

Maybe a 45G owner with these stems could comment, I am still in two minds about this modification. The thought of restoring the stock sliders gives me a headache. Especially after I opened and closed the board last time around 8 - 10 times to ensure an perfect alignment.

Leaning towards restoring the stock sliders

tl;dr - heavier and marginally less smooth experience with these sliders but if custom caps are one of your must haves then perhaps you will see things differently

Yeah I'm going to use them for some MX only artisans on the top row and nothing more. I put on some Enjoy PBT blanks on the keys I'm not currently using and the match is pretty good. The stems sit slightly higher than the stock Topre stems which is a little annoying but worth having the option to add my MX artisans.

How do you feel about them for typing? Will you consider swapping them?

I already switched back to the stock sliders on mine but already missing having a customised look  :p

Anyone know what type of plastic these are made out of exactly? I keep reading that these sliders, being moving parts, should preferably be made out of something other than ABS plastic.

I don't think I will consider swapping an entire board with them. Not sure what kind of plastic they are, but they do feel kind of light. There is definitely a difference in quality when you compare them to stock Topre sliders, with the Topre sliders being of higher quality.

I also want to know this.
It would be nice if they were made with POM.
