Brand spanking new to the world of mech keyboard collecting... my wallet is hurting, and my wife does not approve (I've swayed her slightly with a red cherry mx board and a small 'My Neighbour Totoro' holyoops keycap though...)

I've recently been seeing the glory of clicky clacky goodness, and I shall never go back. Primarily a designer/developer by trade, so I'm always on my computer, but I also game an awful lot in my spare time. Started out on some basic keys, Steelseries gaming boards (6gV2 Red Cherry), and moved into a Brown Cherry Corsair, 2 Cooler Master Masterkeys (brown cherry on both, a quasi-60% in their small, and the full L 104), and have a POK3R RGB Blue Cherry on the way in the hopes of repainting and customizing.

Completely enamoured by custom keycaps, loving the one-off artisans I keep seeing. Started taking the leap into Massdrop group buys (can't wait for my 'x Matt3o /dev/tty MT3' set, and if only I could find a Pulse SA set...

That's it for now, hope to be posting some custom boards over time.

EDIT: I should also mention, I'm up in Toronto, Ontario CAN (fellow canuck MK people say hello)

So far I haven't delved much beyond the Cherry MX line for switches (I have a couple testers already), but I'm going to be putting together a bit of a multi-switch tester soon with some other options.

Layouts, I'm still pretty fresh. I have some standard 104's, and only now getting into the 60%, since I have a number of computers spread out around my house. Definitely thinking of getting a Planck to mess with, seems like a solid style. I'm drawn to the custom 60% boards like crazy, so many amazing builds on here, it's hard to go with just one.

Personally my favourite switches are MX Browns with 55g springs (a nice middle ground between browns and clears), and my favourite boards are 60% HHKB boards. But everyone's tastes are different, and half the fun is finding what you think is perfect. Good luck finding your perfect board!!

I keep seeing the HHKB's, and I'm so ready to get one. I've enlisted a family member living in Japan to pick one up for me. He understands the mech keyboard obsession!
