Is there any risk disassembling topre/clones?

I was looking at a thread about weather it is better to get a HHKB type S or a normal HHKB and add dental bands. There were people saying that thing can go wrong if you don't reassemble things correctly. Is it really that difficult (for PLUM mainly)?  From all the videos I've seen its just a case of not loosing any of the springs, popping out the slider and doing whatever mod you planned on. As an added question, will there be any big difference between a thick and think lubed 35g topre clone? Will the thick stay on longer?

I believe plum board domes are in one big sheet so it is not as hard to make sure it is lined back up when reassembling.

I think there's been some concern expressed over screwing the PCB to the plate "properly", but I'm not sure which of the clones it applies to.

All the clones I've seen are extremely similar. What exactly is the concern?

First time opening an HHKB I lost a spring (never found, a donor board is still missing one). For HHKB one of the issues is the domes are barely glued on to the PCB so aligning the top with the domes, getting the domes to sit flush when the springs are under them, or having the domes stay where you put them can be a real pain. RealForce uses stronger glue so that becomes less of an issue, unless you take the domes off on purpose. Everything else is trivial in terms of difficulty so if the domes are in one sheet it shouldn't be a big deal. Just don't lose springs! I've never been able to find replacements.

I thought I lost one of the springs one and after going back through all of them the last one turned out to be two stuck together.

I wish, I looked at the springs thinking that happened more times than I'd like to admit.
