Hello! from KachaKeys
« on: Thu, 01 June 2017, 00:41:14 »
Hello!

Im new here, and on reddit, I make caps, and generally love all things kb

Or rather I should say we are new here. My girlfriend and I make keycaps (well have some to show soon (TM)) together.

We named ourselves after the Japanese onamonapia for the sound of a CLICK' (you probably know why)

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the community!

I tried to find pictures of your caps but it appears you made your GH and Reddit accounts just now.  :))

Are you making blanks or do you have some sculpts?
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Yup,

Both accounts are literally less than an hour old.

As for sculpts, They are still WIP and a bunch of Ideas are on paper ready to be sculpted and cast, but I will have something to show soon, hopefully by then Ill be able to make a nice post on here detailing them.

Im not working on blanks, maybe for topre down the line if I have anything cool Ill be sure to post on here and reddit, but it may be a good Idea to have a spare mold ready just in case I have extra resin sitting around.

I just joined because I was lurking on reddit and saw a thread showing off a poster for Keycon 2017 and that led me here, and I figured I was going to have to make accounts sometime, so why not now.

Anyway, Nice to meet you!

Having some keycaps ready for Keycon would be a great way to get your name out there, there will be a ton of people taking pictures and I'm sure everyone would be happy to provide feedback.

Topre blanks would be awesome, especially if they're pink or purple.

Haha I can take a hint.

Honestly it wouldnt be too much trouble to make a few anyway.  (any specific row I should do?)

Ive had experience casting with resin before for a few things back in school so hopefully it all goes well and people like my stuff!.  ;D

People usually just do Fn & Esc but I'm a big fan of WASD and arrow sets because you don't see them as often (and I need more blanks for R2 & R3 :p).

What'd you cast in school? I wouldn't be too worried about people liking the caps, with the size the community is now anything that's good quality tends to find an audience.

I used to make 3D sculptures for 3d Printing, and just by hand and cast them in resin.

Im just waiting for my supplies to come in the mail and Ill be on top of it all pretty soon.

Welcome :)

+1 for blanks :thumb:

The only artisans on my HHKB right now is a Fn set.

I like how clean they are.
