Using Cherry stabilizer Alps keycaps on older keyboard?
« on: Wed, 12 July 2017, 22:03:30 »
I have a CVT Avant Stellar with simplified Alps switches. I'm planning on replacing the switches, but removing certain keycaps (namely the spacebar) worries me. I've already found that Signature Plastics sells what I need if I happen to snap the spacebar stem, a 7U spacebar. However, it appears to use Cherry-style stabilizers rather than the Alps-style stabilizers that my spacebar uses. Is there any way to use modern Alps keycaps with Cherry stabs on an older Alps board?

Sorry if this is a dumb question or if it's in the wrong section.

Thanks.

I don't think the stabilizers you're looking for is currently available. See this post: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=45483.msg2413969#msg2413969

You might want to check matias store (sorry can't do it for you right now due to limited connectivity).
