[UK] IBM canpos keyboards

I haven't seen these before - IBM canpos (compact alpha numeric point of sale) keyboards.

I had no luck finding out about the switch type, but it seems getting replacement caps for the trackpoint is no longer possible.

Anyone tried these who can say how good the keys are?

Rubber dome I'd say.

And is it a trackball or trackpoint that it has?

I've seen keyboards like that in actual use in stores, but I don't know anything else about them, although I suspect they're recent enough to be rubber domes, not buckling springs.

They're rubber domes -- I know for sure. I used to look at the IBM equipment at retailers and bug the guys there to sell me it, but they wouldn't.

And it's a trackpoint, the two semicircular things are just buttons.

It's usually mounted on top of a POS IBM machine (these things are never branded as lenovo interestingly enough). It's like a larger computer with a cash tray.

Better question...why WOULDN'T they?

If we're talking about a retailer with a front door you can walk in, what's the problem with buying one of everything?

I don't know, they won't even sell a grubby worn out expired leased IBM rubber dome keyboard. They wouldn't even trade for a better IBM keyboard.

The retail business is a strange one.

It's not retail if they aren't selling...
