MX clears Vs. Realforce 45g uniform> My story
« on: Fri, 18 May 2018, 03:59:12 »
My favorite MX switch is clear. Heavy. It just feels best to me. For Realforce just 45G is perfect. I do not know if they are just different animals or different quality?
It takes the heavy clear to satisfy me in Cherry but the 45G Realforce is plenty stiff enough. In fact I am pretty sure at this point I prefer it a lot. I was just wondering if these are apples and oranges or if there is a method to my madness? I mean as to why nearly 100G bottom out is not favored as much as 45G. I guess I could say the dome collapse just feels good to me. Oddly I find 55G Topre too stiff though. I imagine 45G is a lot better on your fingers than nearly 100G as well. I am just surprised the Clears are barely stiff enough for me but the 45G Topre is plenty firm to me. Of course I do bottom out, it is Topre but it does so much smoother. Plus no lubing messing around or anything. I used Topre for years, went to Clears and 3 years later realize I much prefer Topre. I just do not know how it took the clear to be stiff enough for me but the 45G topre is just right. Does this make any sense at all? Thanks

Clears have lower weight requirements for startup so you already have momentum on your side to get over the bump....It is also likely that your Topre has stiffened up a bit and requires slightly more than 45g...
