$5

I personally don't care for the design, but I know the motif is popular here.

Ha! Play it again, Sam is now on my to-watch list. I saw Sweet and Lowdown a few weeks ago, so it must be fate.

My wife would certainly express similar sentiments towards this pad if I put it on our desk.

Did IBM actually issue those mousepads? It doesn't look like it.

Me wantee!

And I'd say they're third party. Doesn't look the sort of austere stuff that IBM would sell with their computers.

Actually, looking over your Paul Rand thread, I like this design a lot better when it's smaller in size. Weird how that works.

I would buy one since they are made in the USA, but I am saving my money to go golfing.

I don't think McDonnald's would get the joke.

Well, my first thought was China was in a retro craze and cranking these out but it says "Made In America". Paul Rand designed this logo for a IBM internal celebration.  My mug for example supposedly came from an IBM event.

There's a lot of chinese-spoofed IBM products. And I can always tell because:
A) the stripes aren't done properly (usually worst on the B).
B) the colour is off.
C) it looks ugly, nothing like what IBM would design.
D) no serial number or date.
E) when you contact them, they never respond.

When you order food at a restaurant do you tell the waiter why you're not ordering the other 23 items on the menu?

I used to do that, then came the restraining order.

Am I the only one who is unconvinced about the superiority of "US quality"?

Yeah, that's a surefire giveaway. Chinese just can't print Bs.

The Chinese are doing what the Japanese did thirty Years ago, make in abundance and sell cheaply. Then we all laughed at "Made in Japan", nowadays we all prefer our Soni's, Toshi's, Pani's, Mishi's etc etc etc to be "Made in Japan".
Would you buy an electrical product with "Made in England" ? Be honest !
The Chinese can print B's but if you see a "L" then you need to assume it is a "R".
