Hi all.  Was just going to throw this out there to see if anyone has any recommendations.  I currently have an old typematrix keyboard that needs to be replaced and wanted to see if my desires have any perfect matches out there.  Was looking for the following features:

- Tenkey-less or compact needed
- I am not picky about the type of switches because this will be my entry into the mechanical keyboard realm and I don't have anything to compare it to.  I will mostly be FPS gaming on the keyboard so if anyone has recommendations on the type of switch for Overwatch playing then I am all ears.
- I am a Dvorak typer so it would be nice to have the legends in Dvorak but it isn't a deal breaker if it is QWERTY
- Would be nice to have Dvorak in the hardware as opposed to having the operating system control the keyboard layout but that isn't a big deal either.
- It isn't the end of the world if the mouse is USB but I would prefer PS2 connector so I can use my ancient iogear switch to swap between my 2 machines.  Must be a wired keyboard.

Other than these features I could care less....don't need it to be pretty and all lit up....just need it to function properly and when I wear through some keycaps then I need to easily be able to order some replacements and keep on keepin on.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

Heyo! My recommendation would be to get a good TKL keyboard with an alternate controller so you can reprogram it to dvorak. Then purchase a dvorak keyset :)

Very busy with studies atm.

^^

I cant think of any off the shelf boards with a dvorak layout. You should look into Cherry brand keyboards. They have some compact boards that can be found new and used on various interwebs. Most are ps2 as well.

From description:
Cherry MX Red Switches - Good for 50 million strokes, Tenkeyless
Thick 1.5mm PBT Keycaps for Durability - No wear and tear due to your sweaty fingers
Easy Switchable OS and Key Layouts - Switch from Windows, Mac, QWERTY, Dvorak, and Workman with simple shortcuts
On-the-Fly Adjustment of Settings - On-board Cortex processor allows changes in macros, repeat rate, etc. instantly the press of the keys
6-Key and N-Key Rollover for Superior Precision - All keys inputted are registered. Period

It has Dvorak, but only red switches are available. I heard that reds are good for gaming. They used to have with silver switches too, but were sold super fast.
