Short introduction: I am building hand-wired keyboard; want to keep side bezels as minimal as possible (if viewing from top, only keycaps will show). So onto requirements/advantages i am looking in keyboard case :
1. Low-profile/ floating switch design ( Must/ priority).
2. Arrow keys cluster ( Really welcomed).
3. Number pad ( Welcomed, but optional).
4. No F1-F12 row.
This is rough requirements /aditions to a keyboard, a can make some tradeoffs. I am curently using Lenovo Y700 laptop, so i used to its layout so it would be most familiar (I will add photo of its keyboard layout). I dont like that gap between Enter key and number pad (above arrow cluster) on 104-key keyboard, so laptop-like keyboard probably will fit pretty well. (Compact)
I was looking at TADA68 layout; no number pad, but i can make that tradeoff. Maybe you can post some links to its case (at worst, i can cut plate myself; using plate mount costar stabs) ?
Also, as i will be hand-wiring it, how do i mount plate to case ? Most plates have holes to get whole screw trough, so it screws PCB to case, not plate to case. Do I need to use standoff or washers ?
P.S. Sorry for a lot of questions, maybe some unneccecary information, but its my first build. Ever. First MK. Ever.
