I've been impatiently waiting for Arrow.com to drop their retooled MX Blacks back down to .20 ea.
I've only really tested out two linear viants:
- Gateron Blacks, 65g lubed - very nice, but a little too loose.
- Kailh Speed Silvers, 62g lubed - love the rigidity of each key press, but want normal actuation point/throw distance.

If I were to go with a third party manufacturer, what do you recommend? In order of Importance:
- 1. Minimal wobble
- 2. Smoothness

TGR.JANE.V2 #40/40 <3 // TOKYO60 #1 // KBD75  #1 #2 #3 #4 // ES87  #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
INCOMPLETE  Duck Orion v3, 2 pcb black on black (might sell, pm me)  | SOUTHPAW.65

Have you tried Tealios?

Tealios are the best stock linear. Even better when lubed.

I would, but that price tag. Stock blacks at $.35/ea and I'm looking for cheaper :P

Get them aftermarket instead of directly through the retailer. There's so many out there that I've seen very good deals as well.

But overall, I normally just stick to MX Blacks, vintage or retooled, whatever is smooth and useful.

Your title doesn't match what you're looking for. If you want the best, pony up and put some cash down.

If the price is an issue, it is hard to beat Gateron Blacks. You can get them at a reasonable price.

My favorite tuned switch so far is 62g (SS spring) Vintage Black stems in Gateron Housings.

I'm inclined to agree with this, patience helps, but otherwise it's worthwhile oftentimes when the difference is pennies on the dollar. But again, diminishing returns like everything in this hobby as you go up and up.

Really there are a bunch of options out there, there are the punchy switches on taobao, or even the revo whites.
Ive been really getting into the frankenswitch linear craze that it seems a lot of higher end people are getting into, and from what I have found mixing different tops and bottoms and stems makes the best switches due to the sound and smoothness profiles changing.

Personally I have made some nice zeal v2 bottomed retooled black top housing revo white stemmed and springed linears that are lubed with 205g0 and they sound like a dream. Mixing milky switch parts with either aliaz or zeal (v1 or v2) is a good idea for sounds and smoothness, as well as throwing in some more vintage black or retooled black parts for more sound customizations.

Though for stock switches I do think that gateron is the way to go for linears. They have more options than that of cherry or zeal, even though those switches may be better with less(?) work. So all in all, if going for minimal work, tealios or retooled blacks, or any gateron clone switch (punchy, fei, tangerine, revo white, etc.) and for the max customization I feel like just mixing and matching different parts till you find the one that works for you is the best way to do it, albeit expensive.
