Drew a plate, needs a quick go over!
« on: Wed, 27 February 2019, 06:00:01 »

Hi Guys, so never done CAD before, using some free program called BricsCAD and have no idea what I'm doing, so.
Made first from SwillKB, then I made the stab holes less complex as advised.

I took away the gaps between stab and switch holes and later realize what they might be good for, I'm no genius but I'm guessing they exists so if a stab breaks, you can desolder the switch, and replace the stab.

So how stupid would it be to not have the gaps AND make the stab holes even smaller so only the stab parts that is sticking out of the plate fits? i.e. how big is the chance of a stab breaking and how much will I hate myself if it does?

Also the left side screw hole has a small piece (I think 0,8mm), should I cut that out like I did with the right side hole?

All comments are welcome on what I should do here, except comments like "use ai03 instead!", checked with Laserboost and they assured they had done a lot of SwillKB without issue.

Thank you so much in advance!

What stabs do you want to use ? Cherry ? Costar ?

I am not a pro of stabs because but the costars that I have seem’s more skinny that the hole that you have so I think this is supposed to be the Cherry one.
What is the material that do you want to use for the plate, metal ? Acrilic ?.

If this is supposed to be a 1.6 / 1.6 mm sheet of metal, then that can work pretty well for the stab. The only thing that make me fear is the hole on the right and the switch under him… That seem’s not reliable.
