I'm failing to see a proper original Walkman in that photo...

My mom's got one, neat little thing.

I bought a rather large desktop calculator from 1971 at my local thrift store.  I love the bright VFD display and the satisfyingly solid keyboard.  It's pretty amazing to think that, in 1971, these things were selling for hundreds of dollars.  You could even rent them.
Notable Switches I have tried:
black cherry, blue cherry, brown cherry, clear cherry, cherry M84, white alps, black alps, cream alps, Monterey blue alps, Fujitsu Peerless, Gateway2000 rubber dome, Keytronic rubber dome, Model M buckling spring, Model F buckling spring, futaba, black space invader

It might be a bit overpriced, but you gotta dig those Nixie tubes!

Speaking of expensive vintage calculators, my last batch of eBay auctions included this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130392641748&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT

And to think that this came from a five-pack that I picked up at a surplus sale for US$5.

Home/Work:  Custom Filco FKBN87Z/EB and SGI 041-0136-001 chimera (original white ALPS, not simplified, rubber-dampened)
Gaming:  Wolfking Warrior with custom-colored layout, HHKB Lite 2 (Rubber dome)

Seconded.  It makes it very easy to string multiple calculations.
