How to Kill a Lovely Plastic Vinyl Smell?
« on: Sun, 23 May 2010, 02:58:14 »
Well, we just got an airbed as a hospitality accessory for our house, but the thing smells really really awful and it's giving me a headache just by having it in the house.

Anyone here have any special tricks that can thin out the plastic vinyl smell of a freshly unpackaged airbed?

Plastic always seems to have a smell, and it can be very strong. Heck, my 1986 model M still has an ungainly plastic smell to it.

The best way is lots of air, air that sucker out 24/7. Water might help remove the smell a tiny bit as well.

Get a homeless person to roll around on it for an hour. Or use it for a blanket for the evening.
